A fun loving woman from New York city moves to a small town to help her recently widowed ex- mother-in-law. Her personality clashes with the locals, when she goes public with her new relationship with the pastor, the town rallies to kick her out.
In a nutshell, it is amusing, heartwarming & romantic.
Rotten Tomatoes has given it a 3/5. But I think it deserves more. I enjoyed watching it. From the title, I wasn’t expecting more but felt I had found a gem.
The woman finds, Jessie, her husband is cheating. She goes to meet her in-laws, the father is serious. After his death, she goes to pack her mother-in-laws things. From the town, she has to plan, pack & then think of herself.
I don’t think she was under any obligation to help. She could have easily refused. Also the town people were not so nice to her. You can’t judge a person just because she /he is a church goer!
If she falls for another man, no plan of hers. But found solace somehow. Genuinely trying to help her mother & finding love !
I floated through it all. The movie date, her mother -in -law sets or encourages to e in Ben’s company. She is really her daughter !!! Now, that she has her real daughter is no more she is leaning on her daughter -in-law & thinking the best for her!
Immediately after ‘The Family Affair; I found this clean, sweet & refreshing.
