Amelia is about to marry into one of the wealthiest families on Nantucket until a shocking death derails the wedding – and turns everyone into a suspect.
Several changes were made from the novel, including renaming the ride from Celeste Otis to Amelia Sacks. Lamia disclosed that it was made to distinguish it from ‘Big Little Lies, a decision influenced by Kidman’s involvement. The series also features a different ending.
Bier revealed she had turned down directing The Night Manager season 2 to helm ‘The Perfect Couple’. Point, Harwich & various spots around Cape Cod.
Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 6.1 /10. ‘Predictability keeps it from being perfect. But performances & attractive vistas keep this seaside murder mystery highly watchable.’
Although the finale resolved the mystery, Kidman believes there is still more to explore with Greer & Tag’s story in a potential future season.
After the teaser’s release in July, the book’s sales surged by 400% with audio book topping the suspense genre & reaching fifth place on Amazon.
