It follows an exiled RAW agent, who works with ISI agent Rubina Mohsin to take down Jim, a former RAW agent, who plans to attack India with a deadly lab -generated virus.

At the 69th Film fare awards, the film received 16 nominations, including Best film, Best Director & Best Actress ( Padukone ) & won Best female Playback singer ( Shilpa Rao for the song ‘Besharam Rang”)
Rotten Tomatoes gave a score of 6.8/10. Renuka Vyavahare of The Times of India rated the film at 3.5/5 stars. Tanisha Bagchi wrote, ‘If Hrithik Roshan & Tiger Shroff’s showdown in ‘War’ kept you at the edge of your seats, Shah Rukh & John’s fist fights & blows are nothing short of whistle-worthy’.
