It is the twenty fifth production of the studio & the penultimate film of Vijay before his political entry.
The film follows Gandhi, the former leader of an anti-terrorism squad, who reunites with his squad members to address the problems which were stemmed from their previous actions.
Filming took place in Chennai, Thailand, Hyderabad, Sri Lanka, Pondicherry, Thiruvananthapuram, Russia, United States.
Made on a budget of Rs.380-400 crores, it garnered est.Rs.440-456 crores. It is AGS’s most expensive film.
Rotten Tomatoes gave average rating of 4.3/ 10. Critics lauded Vijay’s acting & had a lot to say about the film. It broke many records & emerged the highest grosser of this year.
The special effects take the center stage & the emotions get drowned. The loss of the child doesn’t hit us as hard as it should have. Why take the family to Thailand when you are on a mission??
As the train passes the desert & the chopper flies over, too many memories flood our mind. We have been there & seen it so many times!
Again the climax is no surprise. The hero is capable of just… anything!
