Explicit Innocence ( 2016 )

It is a South Korean drama. Drama special season 7. Episode 1. Screen writer Yoo Jung Hee. Starring Lee Joo Seung, Kang Min Ah, Min Sung Wook, Jang Yoo Sang, Kim Woo Hyeok, Yoon Yoo Sun.

Joon Ho is a third year high school student who just finished taking his university exam. His main interest is to sleep with Seo Yeong, his girlfriend. But so far she has turned him down.

From the first frame we plunge into his world. Wondering how he goes about it. I am surprised at the restraint with which it is handled. Beautiful. Curiosity among the young is not new. But picturing it, showing his anxiety, her frustration, when she suggests they break up, all required finesse.

They have done a lovely job. Without any graphic details, showing how such a delicate subject was not easy. It could have been vulgar at any point. It does not.

Lee Joo Seung as the lead. ‘Pinocchio’, ‘The Producers’, ‘Top Management’, ‘Doctor Prisoner’, ‘Black Knight’, he has shed his baby fat from his cheeks since then. He can exude innocence.

Kang Min Ah as his girlfriend looks pretty. ‘Bring it on, Ghost’, ‘True Beauty’ she has small roles but memorable.

Min Sung Wook as his uncle. Sen in ‘Pinocchio’, ‘Age of Youth’, ‘Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo’, ‘School 2017’, ‘While You were sleeping’, ‘A Korean Odyssey’, ‘About Time’, ‘Castaway Diva’.

I had very little hopes, but it turned out so well.
