It is a Chinese drama. Also known as ‘Almost a Cat astrophic Love story. Directed by Xu Xiao Lu. It stars Wu Ya Lu, Wen Xin.
Pei Zhen , a candidate for the best actress award, turns into a cat by accident. She is kept by Fu Si chen, the best actor & her bickering childhood friend. Just like that they start a sweet life of cohabitation as Fu Si chen brings up his lovely pet.
In the end she says ‘she is writing a novel’ was all of it just a story?? Did the ML exist or was he also a part of fiction? The other lady is too evil.
If he is real, she was never a cat, so how will she respond in the future? Envy him for his first place, assert herself or go after the evil lady ? I wonder.
It has it’s moments but they are very few & far in between. I enjoyed it, till it lasted.
The 2020 ‘A Whisker Away’ a beautiful Japanese anime has a solid story. It also has fantasy & romance. The girl transforms herself into a cat to gain the attention of her crush.
The South Korean show of 2023 ‘A Good day to be a Dog’, she turns into a Dog after kissing a person. Every day she turns into a dog for six hours at midnight. Till she kisses the same person again in her dog appearance, the spell cannot be broken.
Fantasy dramas do have their appeal.
