It is a 2013 South Korean film. Directed by Lee Na jeong. Writer Bo Ra Yoo. It stars Kim Hye Ok, Jeong In gi, Han Joo wan.
Yeonu has lived in her hometown for years. All her friends have moved away & old properties sold to construction companies. One day she helps her mom, who is a cleaning lady at a major corporation. She meets her old elementary school friend.
She asks her to go on a blind date. Wearing her fancy clothes & heels Yeonu meets the boy. ( Similar to ‘Business Proposal”, he wants to meet her again! ) Also Yeonu is attracted to him.
Once she manages to whisk him away from the office but next time he meets her in the lobby. She is wearing her uniform, with her name tag & has a bucket in her hand! She cannot be the ‘announcer’!!!
Her friend has a serious talk on the rooftop & we see that she is not that bad. But Yeonu now calls him & says she will meet him, wherever he is . She has resolved her mental issues & is ready to face the situation.
Her look is different. Her face calm. Then she is seen playing the guitar, singing a song with her friends in their cafe. A door opens & she turns to look, smiles. We assume everything is going to be okay.
We need a clear signal but the story ends. We need a part 2 but I don’t see it coming. The actors are good.
Han Ye ri from ‘Hello, My Twenties 1 & 2’ 2016, 2017 & ‘My unfamiliar Family ‘ 2020, ‘Doom at Your Service’ 2021. She is flawless.
Han Joo wan compliments her. Lim Se Mi is the elegant friend of hers. ‘When the weather is Fine’ 2020, ‘Mr Sunshine’ 2018, ‘About Time’2018. ‘ Love on a Rooftop’ 2015.
Kim Hye Ok as Yeonu’s mother is a seasoned actor. ‘My Little Bride’ 2004, ‘Destined with You’2023, ‘Oh My Baby’ 2020, ‘What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim’ 2018, ‘ My Golden Life’ 2017-18, ‘The Producers’ 2015.
A good film to watch.
