It is a 2018 Chinese drama. It is loosely based on the novel ‘Huang Quan by Tianxia Guiyuan. It stars Chen Kun & Ni Ni. It takes place in the fictional kingdom of Tiansheng.
It became one of the highest rated shows of the year. It was nominated for several awards including Best drama series at the Asian TV awards. It won the Best cinematography at the 25th Shanghai TV festival.
Ning Yi is the highly intelligent & calculating sixth prince of the Tiansheng kingdom. He hides his personality behind a carefree facade.
Ni Ni is the niece of Colonel Qui & is supposed to take the place of Colonel’s daughter in an arranged marriage to Ning Yi. But the marriage is called off & she is banished from her household.
Through ups & downs they help each other but fail to be with each other. The novel has a different ending than the show. Yet, the show remains equally entertaining.
She is so confident, intelligent, becoming the Ultimate Scholar & an official. Her marriage to Helian Zheng of Jinshi makes her pine for her love. But the Emperor really loves her & knowing that she has someone else in her heart, treats her well.
One suddenly feels if they have mistakenly changed the ML. He is so proper, prim, proud to be her husband!
