After the first episode, the dominating wife & the husband being humiliated by his rich in-laws.. wasn’t a real hot theme. The real surprise was the after 10th episode, the twists & the turns made you reach for the handkerchief.
It was a painful wait for the next episode to be loaded. The episodes ended at such a point that one wished the weekend would come sooner!
Reading about IU rejecting the lead role gave me a heart tag. This would be another show after ‘Producers’ & the lead pair would be a hit, instantly. Now, Kim Ji won has given us another wonderful performance, no doubt. Also IU must be sincere with her commitments & if the news is true, focussing on her relationship.
I am not even going into the ten reasons why it should be on your watch list. Or comparing it with ‘Lovely Runner’ which handles another premise.
I wish to applaud Kwak Dong yeon. It looks every inch the idiot he has to portray. But what was mesmerizing is his transformation when his wife leaves him & goes off with the child.
Heartbroken he tracks her through their favourite game & wants her to be happy wherever she is ! Are there such humans on Earth?? Later when she appears in front of him, his reaction is classic.
I must have seen thousands of movies & dramas along the way, but this was on another level! Wordless reunion & in front of the villagers he knew would gossip tomorrow!
Then he stood up to the parents & taking a firm stand he reclaimed his wife & son. He knew he isn’t the biological father & also that she had married him only for his money! How can a person be selfless & forgiving???
I know the writers have written it as such but the portrayal is perfect to a T !!! I have admired him since his role in ‘Love in the Moonlight’ with Park Go gum as his Royal guard. That was in 2016. A cameo in ‘Fight for my Way’ 2017 & in 2018″Gangnam Beauty’ with Im Soo hyung & Cha Eun woo. He gives us a Second lead syndrome with his easy manner.
In 2020, he has a cameo in “It’s okay to not be Okay’ a patient who gets admitted to the hospital where Kim Soo hyun works. This show reunites them.
In 2021, ‘Vincenzo’ he was the half brother of Jang Jun woo (Ok Taec yeon), who treats him badly. The main villian trying to promote his Babel group at any cost.
His role as the younger brother of Hae in is by far one of the best. Gradually more layers of his personality are on display, here.
The viewership has risen from a modest 5.85 & to 21.625% for the 14 th episode nationwide & from 6.49 % to 23.925% in Seoul. It has grabbed the top spot for weeks now & also toppled ‘Goblin’ which had the number one for years.
After the 16th episode, 2 more episodes are going to be aired. Let’s wait.
