Coming to the 11th episode , I realized how much it resembles the iconic show, ‘Crash Landing on You’! The toxic family members who only see her as the face of their company. She has no friends or no colleagues who can share her emotional load.
We don’t have political borders of North & South but the economic divide is gaping. Rarely we see a heiress wedded to her employee. Jun ho, coming to his hotel in a chopper in ‘King: The Land’ is a nice surprise. What an entry!
More so, when she is admitted to the ICU in the hospital. Hyun woo in tears & watching through the glass, I recalled Captain Ri watching her, Ms Se ri. The situation same but with a difference.
The press conference , a major part of so many dramas, was a revelation. She had the guts to expose herself to the media. Reveal her illness with the deadline of 3 months. Also going against the host. Drawing enemy lines.
The best press conference is in ‘You are my Destiny’ I can see it again & again. I have watched Na ra & Jang Hyuk again in other dramas but there is something unique about that particular show.
They develop deeper feelings after she loses the child & here in ‘Queen of Tears’ Hae in ‘s illness, her brain tumour, makes her aware that time is short & she hasn’t told her husband about her feelings. After divorce, she confesses her feelings!
Being together 24 /7, they slowly got used to each other. She used harsh words to maintain the distance after losing her unborn child. That had affected both, but they never shared the agony. It made them drift apart.
Her family’s behavior made him pitiful, humiliated & he started hating the relationship. To free himself he found the solution. Being a lawyer himself, he found the legal way.
The end of the episode when she goes with Yoon Eun seong assuming him to be Baek Hyun woo! Yoon comes with an umbrella & takes her to his car. After the long chase finally, Baek stops them . Alighting from his car, shouts her name.
Her illness has made her memory hazy. She has spurts of dread. After the press conference when she looks at Baek’s face she starts coming down the stairs where she suddenly steps on soft soil. There are lavender fields all around. She has been having spells of dis-orientation.
Earlier she had lost her way to Baek’s house. How she came to a place she would not remember! He is taking care to be with her all the time. But her symptoms seem to have worsened. Scary.
From the title , I fear it is going to have a sad end. But just when things are looking up I am dreading it. But again from the author of ‘Crash Landing on You’ we may have a nice end!!!
