Watching him in ‘Unchained love’ made me realise a few things. Number of episodes are more & he captures the screen. Let me start from the beginning.

As Daoming Si in the ‘Meteor Garden’ 2018 , he needs no intro. From the very first frame he is there! In front of the whole school/ college he gets a kick on his chin. So, there is no suspense. We know the lead pair.

Shen Yue is 27 years old. She was 2 years his senior. But all the Korean , Chinese actresses never age. So, through out the series she looks young & after. I have seen her shows before I followed Wang. ‘A love so beautiful’ , ‘Use for my Talent’ showcase her talent.

‘The Rational Life’ 2020 as the young intern Qi Xiao , in the office with Qin Lan as his boss, Shen Ruoxin . She is 44 today. But the story demanded a 30 plus ambitious woman. They brought out the contrast & made us wish for them to acknowledge their feelings.

‘Love Between Fairy & Devil’ 2022 with Yu Shuxin as the Fairy brought them phenomenal success. In the related drama ‘Love you Seven times’ the same story is the base. It aired in August, 2023.

Yu Shuxin also known as Esther Wu is 28 years old. She is delicate .Wang looks scary & he has adopted the black attire so well.

‘Unchained Love’ 2022 with Chen Yuqi is a saga of two people trying to break the shackles of the Palace & aspire to be free. The chief of the imperial army & the concubine of the late emperor form an unlikely bond.

Chen Yuqi is 31 years old. I have seen her earlier in ‘The Princess Weiyoung’ 2016. She has assayed the role so well! From being put up to die in the burial tower along with other concubines to being a consort of the present emperor. He dotes on her but she has found another man! The story is not a love story but a story of freedom!!

‘Only For Love’ 2023 has Zheng Shu Yi interviewing a businessman , Shi Yan who has left his father’s business & made a name for himself. Bai Lu as the hard working reporter is superb.

Bai Lu is 29 years of age. She has done a hesitant interviewer with Wang’s super confident, self made businessman. She once complains why he calls her by her full name, it looks like you are scolding me ! Of course, he continues to do so.

As I had suspected all his heroines are elder to him. But he has never missed a beat. He walks with such confidence, that nobody can suspect he is the youngest of the lot! In ‘Unchained Love’ Peter ho being the emperor has unlimited authority over him. He holds his servant at the tip of the knife. Yet, Wang remains unshakable.

I know it’s a role but done with such conviction. ‘Only for Love’ 2023 was also accepted well. Now, we are waiting for his new venture. ‘Guardians of the Dafeng’ where he is Xu Qian.
