It is based on manga of the same name. Much anticipated, it’s first episode just flies. Really. It is super fast. Later the pace slackens a bit.
A young girl whose mother was framed for murder gets close to the man who framed him. A child then. She discovers a deep mystery over the event & starts falling for him.
15 years have passed since Tsubaki’ s father was murdered. Both Nao & Tsubaki, who were each other’s first love, both become Japanese sweets artisans & meet again at a Japanese sweets contest.
Nao spent her formative years living in Kogetsuan, a well established Japanese confectionery shop where her single mother worked as a pastry chef. The two children become close . Later it becomes a battle to own the shop. Who is the legal heir?
The old master of the house, Tsubaki ‘s grandfather, says, ‘He is not my biological grandson’.
A special mention: Yamazaki Ikusaburo is the most lovable character, if given a choice. Little screen time, but memorable.
Within the few episodes, specially the final gives us real entertainment. The sweets they make & the background they explain is superb. Lovely sweets.
The drama is high strung. Some very beautiful scenery & emotions to boot.
