I Lost my Body

It is a 2019 French adult animated horror drama film.Directed by Jeremy Clapin. It is based on a novel ‘Happy Hand’ by Guillaume Laurant. It premiered in the Critic’s Week section at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.

It won the ‘Nespresso’ Grand Prize becoming the first animated film to do so in the section ‘s history. The film was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 92 nd Academy Awards, but lost to ‘Toy Story 4’.

The story follows a severed hand escaping from a refrigerator in a laboratory . It begins a journey across the suburbs of Paris to reunite with its body, Naoufel. His story is told via flash backs.

Rotten Tomatoes rated it 96 % based on the reviews. Averaging at 8.1 /10. ‘Beautifully animated & utterly unique, ‘I lost my Body’takes audiences on a singularly strange journey’.

The hand creeping on the ground or holding the ledge is real. The animation is great. The story unique & interesting.
