Diary of a Prosecutor

After 16 episodes, like ‘Record of Youth’ it leaves us wanting more. The closure that other stories have is not here. We wish well for everyone of them.

Based on ‘Prosecutor Civil war’ it depicts the ups & downs in the lives of the prosecutors. A slice of their private life with office politics.

Lee Sun Kyun is upright & uncompromising. He is for the people he fights for. Whatever their station in life, he cares little. Justice has to be done. He fights with his bosses for it. After ‘My Mister’ this is much more brighter.

Jung Ryeo won as a successful prosecutor in Seoul moves to Jinyoung, where Lee also works. She has hated him for his privileged background. She doesn’t waste time. So appears cold. She is efficient & works very hard. After ‘Wok of Love’ this is much more serious. She has rarely smiled here.

Lee Sung jae as Jo Min ho , the chief of their unit 2 wants them to be number 1. Principled, kind & helps his team to fare well.

Kim Kwang-kyu & Lee Sang hee are two prosecutors set in life & working hard for their department. They are often seen in supporting roles.

Jeon Sung woo as Mr Kim is the youngest prosecutor. He is staying with Lee Sung kyun. Mr Lee’s family is in Seoul. So he shares accommodation. Dating & gaming are his passion. Mr Kim finds his date in his office.

Ahn Eun jin as Seong Mi ran has a tiny role. She is not even in the posters. But her story with Mr Kim is the only romance in this drama. Looking at her after ‘Hospital Playlist’ & ‘The Good, Bad Mother ‘ was a surprise.

Jung Jae sung as Kim In joo , head of the branch is the same as always. An authority who gets what he aims for. He resigns office only to head the special investigation team! After ‘My Mister’ where he tagged along the CEO, here he is the head with lot of power.

It is interesting to watch but not engrossing. Watching Lee Sung kyun in action was painful. He has words of advice as ‘Noodles can be made in three minutes but one can get conned in only two!’ Why did he not heed his own words??
