Don’t let the old man in

Clint Eastwood going strong at 88, we wish him all the luck! He is driving, meeting friends, gardening, going out with his wife… everything that a person should do. Only not thinking that he is old!

We around the sixties start with the thought of getting old, been there done it. But actually, now is the time to do more.

The hassles of everyday, the pay or the time don’t matter. The children are all mature enough to take care of themselves. So, now is the time to enjoy life at it’s fullest!

The movements are slow, but then we don’t have to catch a train or that muster to sign. We have signed off & embarked on a new journey, of our own. It’s unique for every individual.

The leisure is ours so is the luxury to plan & improvise. If a certain thing is not done, it can after a few hours. No rush. No sweat.

Looking at people on the run is fun. That rush leads to nowhere, now we are aware. More careful with the time we have . A bonus not everyone gets.

Toby Keith has written a beautiful poetry. Clint Eastwood still reminds us of all those western flicks he worked in. ( Remains an idol, evergreen)

Javed Akhtar, another wizard with his words has written about his old house. Of the fourteen people from 5 to 95 years, ten have passed away. His old house is in ruins. Our memories remain. Once people leave, a home becomes a house.

The garden cared for is in disarray. The house that housed so many ,has only memories. George Carlin says, ‘House is just a place where you keep your stuff as you go out & get more stuff’.

When the house has occupants, we desire privacy & when the nest empties, we crave for company. The real folly of human desire.

When we are young we desire a stable job, when we retire we desire a young body. Our desires know no limit.
