Diary of a Prosecutor

The story follows the daily lives of overworked prosecutors in the fictional city of Jin young , South Korea. Lee Sun kyun’s voice over is an added attraction.

After 7 episodes, it remains slow. One case per episode with the lives of the prosecutors threaded along. When Lee Sun kyun is gambling with his friends at home, his son appears. His wife is taking care of his son. He visits them occasionally.

Surprise! I had thought of his college friend finding him after so many years. Jung Ryeo won is serious & has a painful past. She missed getting the brass rod’ of honour from her professor. Instead Lee Sun kyun gets it.

She gets a shock when he opens their cans with it! On arriving from Seoul, she has to adjust to the new office. She gets all the unsolved cases assigned to her. A workaholic she often skips her meals & works overtime.

The case of school violence, his son has used bad words to his friend. The parents have filed a law suit. There is another ongoing violence case of the girls abusing, bullying their ‘chingu’ in school. The paper planes thrown later in her support fail to appease her. Nobody supported her when she needed it.

Later Lee Sun kyun finds time to go fishing with his son. His son’s behavior is an eye opener for him. He wants to spend more time with his son, now.

He finds out that he had taken active interest in video games. He used bad words often. Children are quick to pick up. Also when they were watching drama, his son was on his phone. ‘The light in your eyes’ brought tears to their eyes but his son could not empathize. He wondered why his parents were crying!

The show shows the humane side of the prosecutors while solving the cases. Yet the show remains a bit slow. Each episode of ‘Extra ordinary Attorney Woo’ had a new case & her personality made it special! How we enjoyed that show! Waiting for the next season.

Lee Sun kyun taking his son to the police station & tying his shoe laces. Asking him to be in his friend’s shoes & think. At least one scene in every episode is a gem. But waiting for it needs a lot of patience.
