Welcome to Samdal-ri

Viewership at 10.068% & 10. 790% it has done good. Only two more episodes before wrap up. The viewers are enjoying it. The tale of the three sisters sprinkled as we go is refreshing. Before it gets boring, it moves on to the next.

Many times we see the same scene but with a separate angle & start appreciating it. Death of a spouse is one event or an accident. But the people involved have different reactions. Yong pil’s father cannot move on. His mother-in-law lost it completely.

Yong pil is inconsolable. He likes Sam dal so much that it hurts. Breaking up was the biggest decision of their life. It drove her to the mainland & her dreams with a deep wound she was unaware of.

In the forecasting office, he kept his eyes pealed for any mishaps. Also he followed Sal -dal’s rise faithfully. Visiting Seoul, but taking care that their paths would not cross. Hiding her mother’s illness so that she wouldn’t worry.

I loved to see the resolve in her eyes. When she visits his father in the temple & declares, ‘he is the one for me!’ Not easy to say those words in front of an angry parent. Also the tears in his eyes say it all.

So brave of him to declare that he is okay with their being together. The happy ending was achieved. They did not get it easily.

I don’t think the story is different. The treatment is. People around you, having their opinions, prejudices & pride, jealousy… everything we are capable of. Yet, they come out as better persons.

The curve of every character is limited ,as is in real life, but they try to better themselves. Sam dal’s father is a man of few words. But his meeting with Yong pil’s father at the convenience store was a must. That fight was necessary. Not really injuring each other but bashing up things was necessary.

With both my shows coming to an end, ‘My Demon’ & “welcome to Sam dal-ri’ the search will be on for a new one.
