It is a 2018 South Korean TV series starring Lee Jun ho, Jang Hyuk & Jung Ryeo-won. Directed by Park Seon-ho. Meaning to see it since ages, finally I get to see both, Jun ho & Jang hyuk together!
Jang Hyuk has the same laugh & I suspect if he took off from ‘You are My Destiny’ to land on the sets of ‘Wok Of Love’! As a gangster he is superb.
Jun ho as the saus chef of the six star hotel is just that. Later when he joins hands with the gangster to get his revenge & becomes Chef in ‘Hungry Wok’. He is joined by so many helping hands!
Dan Sae-woo, the bankrupt heiress, is a delight to watch. From crazy to super crazy she does it effortlessly. Wearing the fencing helmet & tagging along a horse in the streets, no one can match her!
Right from the word ‘go’ both the males have fallen for her. Seo Pung doesn’t know, but we know better. Again the choice between the moneyed man or the talented chef remains.
The viewership rose to 10.8 % once, but never faltered much. Having a steady audience for 38 episodes is no mean feat.
Among various nominations, only the Best supporting actor was won by Im Won hee. He has a huge body of work under his belt. From 1995 till date he is active in films & TV shows. As the Chef Wang in the Chinese Restaurant of Giant Hotel, he is envious of Pung & gets him fired out of spite.
