In a nutshell it is Gutsy, bittersweet & compassionate. True. For the final 20th episode the viewership rose to 21.5% & 24.2 % . Phenomenal. It was always in double figures. Along with it’s popularity, it swept awards at the awards function.

Gong Hyo jin plays Seo Yoo kyung. She is a novice at the Italian restaurant & dreams of becoming a celebrity Chef. When she was offered this role, she thought it would be boring & cliched to play her as the usual brash & spunky rom-com heroine, she made the significant acting decision to play against type by creating the character as an ordinary girl who seemingly meek, but has a quiet strength & shyly gets her way.

Her chemistry with co-star Lee Sun kyun & the drama’s breezy atmosphere propelled it to the top of the ratings.

Lee Sun kyun as Choi Hyun wook is the Chef who joins La Sfera & fires the female staff. “No women in my Kitchen’ he proclaims. He is the opposite of his role in ‘Coffee Prince’ where he is a softie. An artist who is sensitive & sensible.

Best known for his role in Bong Joon ho’s Academy Award winning film ’Parasite’ (2019) for which he won a screen actors Guild award along with his castmates. 

On December 27, 2023 he died of carbon monoxide poisoning at the age of 48. An untimely exit.

Lee Hanee is an actress who represented her country at Miss Universe 2007. She has acted in various films & dramas. ‘The Fiery priest’ being one of them. In 2021, she acted in ‘One the Woman’ & is drafted to be in ‘Knight Flower’ in 2024.

Alex Chu as Kim San is charismatic. As the owner he never pressurizes his staff. But is aware of everything that goes around. He has feelings for Miss Chef for three long years. Why he did not make the first move??

Choi Jin hyuk as one of the chefs in the kitchen. Handpicked by the Chef, he is favored because of his association with the Chef since Italy. All the three cooks look Italian. What is that? Their air of being outsiders.
