It is an American teen drama series. It premiered on Netflix on December 7, 2023. The coming of age drama is an adaptation of Ali Novak’s 2014 novel of the same name, which was first published on Wattpad.
It follows recently orphaned Jackie Howard ( Nikki Rodriguez ) a teenage girl from Manhattan who relocates to rural Colorado, Silver Falls, after she is taken in by the Walters, a family of seven sons.
The series was developed by Melanie Halsall. It stars Marc Blucas, Alisha Newton & Sarah Rafferty.
Filming began in Alberta, Canada in March, 2022 & concluded by September, 2022. Production took place across Alberta, with filming locations in Calgery, the town of Cochrane & the town of Crossfield.
Rotten Tomatoes reported a 43% approval with an average of 4.8/10 based on 7 critic reviews. ‘Metacritic’ indicated ‘mixed or average reviews’.
Right from the beginning I was reminded of the Korean show ‘Moon Lovers’ where suddenly the protagonist IU appears in the world of the princes. All of them start mooning over her. But she falls for the bad guy!
Here, she falls for Cole, who is the notorious one. A handsome guy who can win any girl with his looks. ‘The Cole effect’ as they say. He got hurt & cannot be the quarterback or aspire for a scholarship.
After two episodes, I have the hang of it & know how it is going. Entertaining.
