It is a South Korean romance drama film. Written & directed by Bang Woo-ri in her feature film debut. It stars Kim Yoo-jung, Byeon Woo seok, Park Jung woo & Roh Yoon-seo.
It released on 21 October, 2022 on Netflix.A day later after it’s release it ranked 7th globally on Netflix’s movie category. Within three days of it’s release it ranked second on Netflix’sglobal chart of Top 10 non -English movie category.
Roh Yoon -seo is known for her TV series ‘Our Blues’ 2022, ‘Crash Course in Romance’2023, ‘Black Knight’2023 featuring Kim Woo bin & the film ’20th Century Girl’ 2022. Roh was awarded Best new actress award for her role in ‘Crash Course in Romance’ at the Baeksang Arts awards in 2023. I have seen all of her shows!!!!
Because of the sad & somber ending I had been avoiding it. But watching Kim Yoo-jung in ‘My Demon’ & Byeon Woo seok in ‘Strong girl Nam Soon’ I had to see them in a drama together.
The film depicts the friendship & freshness of first love against the backdrop of 1999.
Filming took place in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province from October 2021 to January 2022.
Director Bang Woo-ri wrote the script based on her personal experience of exchanging diaries with her friend. The film is set in Cheongju, the director’s hometown.
The film was invited to 27th Busan International Film Festival and premiered at ‘Korean Cinema Today- special premiere’ section on October 6, 2022.
