The Female lead in Kdramas…

I was watching the K drama ‘Daily dose of Sunshine’ when the common thread suddenly struck me. She comes to the psychiatry ward, as a nurse. In the hospital, the main male lead, a doctor, is already at the hospital.

So basically it is his terrain that she adjusts to. In most of the dramas, it remains same & what is astonishing is that we find it new & interesting!

‘Moon lovers ..’ has IU coming to the world of the princes in Goryeo period where she adjusts to her new role. All the princes admiring her & a couple of them falling for her forms the entire story.

‘Our Blues’ has Han Ji min coming to the island & into the world of Kim Woo bin. Also Shin Min a comes back for healing to the island & into the world of Lee Byung hun.

Shin Min a again in ‘Hometown Cha cha cha ‘ comes to an island to set up her dentist clinic to fall for Kim Seon ho, the lovable handyman of the island.

‘My secret romance’ has Yoo mi working for her employer who she had an affair with. Of all the places, she had to be at his place to find employment!

‘Business Proposal’ or ‘King, the Land’ have the rich employer employee drama. Similar to ‘What’s wrong with secretary Kim?’ has Park Min young, an indispensable secretary tries to quit to have a life of her own.

My own favourite ‘Boys over Flowers’ has the high & mighty Lee min ho, group leader of F4 falling hard for the new girl. She is a commoner & a misfit in their school. She comes to his school!

In a rare setting, ‘Destined with You’ has Rowoon coming to the female lead , the civil servant. Jo Bo- ah has it tough with the curses & all.

Rowoon’s first ‘Extra ordinary you’ also has him coming to her rescue & into her world! Already engaged to be married to her boyfriend, Rowoon enters her world to overwhelm her completely. And us!

‘When the weather is fine’ has Park min young travelling back to her place. She finds a bookshop owner, a loyal friend who helps her heal.

‘Romance is a bonus book’ has Lee Jong suk helping his married friend to get back on her feet. She comes to his world. Lee Na young in a simple. sweet role of a confused lady in her late 30s. A ‘noona’ romance, deftly presented.

‘One spring Night’ has Han ji min barging into the world of Jung hae in, a pharmacist. A librarian with a steady boyfriend she finds this young man with a kid, intriguing. So do we.

“It’s okay to not be okay’ has the children’s book author coming to town & getting into the world of a care giver. An excellent drama that delves into all the aspects of mental illness.

‘Strong girl Nam soon’ or ‘Strong girl Bong soon’ have them coming to their male leads by chance. The police officer to Nam soon or the game developer Min min are iconic. Their worlds start revolving around their love interests. And how!!

Next time lets go for the stories with the male lead coming to her world like Rowoon does frequently.
