Episode 4 ‘The Gift Transcription’ has Miyo asking Yurie to help her choose a gift for Kiyoka. Yurie suggests something handmade so Miyo decides a kumihimo since he always ties his hair with one.
Kiyoka gives her a protective charm. He then visits the Saimori & informs them they will not receive traditional benefits if Miyo doesn’t receive a full apology.
While shopping with Yurie, she meets Kaya & Kouji. Kaya learns that she is not abandoned as Kaya had thought. On returning home she crosses path with Kiyoka & is struck by his beauty.
At home, Yurie informs Kiyoka of the incident & impresses om him that Miyo needs his unconditional love. Kiyoka invites Hana, a servant Miyo was close to as a child before she was dismissed unfairly. Miyo is overjoyed to meet her.
On meeting Hana she realises that Kiyoka wants to marry her knowing about her lack of supernatural powers. She goes to him & gifts him with the kumihimo. Now, embracing her he comforts her. He asks her to tie it for him.
Kouji’s father plots to break them up with a plan involving Kaya.
The women are used as pawns in a power tussle. Yurie has a mind of her own. The strength of Miyo is not known yet. But Kiyoka being her support will eventually help her regain her self esteem. Also, she will not make her father lose face.
With very little words, gestures the story proceeds developing every character on the way. Just fabulous.
