It is a 2023 South Korean sports comedy drama film. Written & directed by Lee Byeong -heon. It stars Park Seo-joon, with Lee Ji -eun. It revolves around Yoon Hong-dae, a football player.

It revolves around Yoon Hong dae, a football player. He receives disciplinary provision & is given a challenging job of coaching the National football team of homeless people for the Homeless World Cup.

It was released on April 26, 2023 & on Netflix in July 25, 2023. It premiered at the 22nd New York Asian Film Festival on July 17, 2023.

It is the third highest grossing Korean film of 2023. But the break even point is 2.18 million admissions, the film may not recoup it’s budget, so it likely to sustain losses from crowdfunding investors.

Also ‘Dream’ Korean drama of 2009 dealt with lives of a sports agent & K-1 fighters. It was a series of 20 episodes.

I had a few flashes of ‘Chak De India’ based on Indian Women’s hockey team. Made in 2007 Kabir Khan , a former hockey star, tainted as someone who betrayed his country, begins coaching the Indian women’s National team to prove his loyalty to the nation.

The team starts as the underdogs taking over formidable opponents. The finals in Australia were akin to what plays out in Hungary here.

‘Chak De India’ was a smashing hit. We need to wait for ‘Dream’.
