My Happy Marriage

Into the third episode, Kiyoka invites Miyo on their first date. When he says he is visiting city, she assumes he wants her to make something to take along. Instead he asks her to accompany him. She is surprised & doesn’t want to be a bother.

Reaching city, when he asks her to buy what she wants, she has nothing. She wishes for nothing or wants nothing. She is just happy to be there! For a caged bird, being in the open is a gift!!

Kouji’s father is furious to have lost Miyo’s Usaba bloodline but her father assures him that once Kiyoka scares her, he can retrieve her. Plus she has no superpowers. He is happy to abandon her.

Is she a stray dog? His own child, he thinks he can treat her as he likes? With or without the superpower shouldn’t he take her side? Abusing her & making her do chores all day… Isn’t she a child like Kaya?

I wonder why he married Miyo’s mother in the first place?? He should’ve married Kaya’s mother, if he was so enamoured by her? By making wrong choices, you make other lives miserable!!

Kiyoka secretly commissions a sakura blossom kimono for Miyo. She mends her own clothes & has never worn a decent garment. He gifts her a comb, despite Yurie’ s claim a comb is a definite sign that he is making a proposal to her.

Yurie, the wise, old lady in his household has taken an instant liking for Miyo. She knows this is a perfect match!

Kiyoka receives the details of the investigation into the Saimori family & is disgusted by the blatant evidence of abuse towards Miyo. He learns of her lack of magic & relation to the Usubas, whose magic can manipulate people’s minds.

As he leaves his office, he is attacked by several shikigami, whom he destroys easily. But realises that someone is spying on him.

I like that his character as portrayed by people is different from what he is! He is quick to realise that he has a gem he must cherish & shine. The cloth merchant was quick in advising him to hold fast.
