The second episode has Miyo trying to be useful & makes breakfast for her husband. But Kiyoka callously assumes she has been sent to poison him.He is training his supernaturally gifted soldiers to kill demons called Grotesqueries. They have not fought one in years!
Kouji moves to the Saimori house to find a tiny room that Miyo used. He hopes to help her somehow in the future. She has gone to her future husband’s house but he believes an opportunity will present itself for him to be of use. Marrying Kaya wasn’t what he dreamt of. To head the family in future he needs to stay with his would-be inlaws.
Kiyoka notices Miyo’s habit of apologising for everything. Feeling guilty, he asks her to make breakfast in the morning. Stating that Yurie is going to be late. Has Yurie never been late before? Did he go without breakfast then?
He praises Miyo & gets perplexed when she starts crying! Bemused by her behaviour he decides to investigate the Saimori family. She has never heard praise before. Working was her habit & she had never heard words of encouragement!
Going to extremes here, but it happens so often when we see around us. The role of a homemaker is tough but taken for granted. She never hers praises nor is given credit for her work! Then it becomes so relatable.
Kouji’s father is furious. He had agreed Kouji marrying Kaya only if Miyo was to marry his eldest son Kazushi, since her maternal relation to the Usuba family makes her very valuable as a wife even without her spiritual powers.
The children used as pawns in a powergame. What they wish is not a concern at all. Waiting for the next episode.
