It is a 2023 release on Netflix. A light novel series written by Akumi Agitogi & illustrated by Tsukiho Tsukioka.
Taking place in the 19th century Meiji Restoration era, Miyo Saimori who is born without supernatural talent is forced into an existence of servitude by her abusive step mother. When Miyo comes to marriageable age, she is sent away to marry Kiyoka Kudou.
He is known to be cruel & cold. His previous brides have fled within three days of their engagement. With no home to return to, Miyo resigns to her fate- but soon finds her husband -to-be is anything but the monster she expected.
As they slowly open up their hearts to each other, both realise the other may be their chance at finding true love & hapiness.
The first episode begins with the blooming cherry blossom. The falling petals are so beautiful. Then enters Miyo. Another Cinderella. Doing all work, father taking care of his other wife & daughter.
Sudden announcement of marriage & the homebound girl is plunged into the outside alien world. She reaches the destination. He is sitting in his study & turns to glance at her. She is taken aback by his looks.
The drawings are scenic. The stream flowing has clear water. The cobbled roads are from a fairy tale. I loved everything about it.
