Gumraah

Gumraah (trans. Astray) is a 2023 Indian Hindi language crime thriller film. Directed by Vardhan ketkar & produced by T Series. The film stars Aditya Roy Kapur. Mrunal Thakur, Ronit Roy.

It is a remake of the 2019 Tamil Film Thadam. It revolves around a murder mystery. The investigation becomes complicated after the police discover two lookalike suspects. Aditya Roy Kapur in a double role.

The film was released in theatres but underperformed commercially, becoming a box office bomb. Made on a budget of 23 crores it garnered 10.68 crores.

B.R Chopra’s ‘Gumraah’ made in 1963 is a gem. Also it was a box office hit. It was remade in Malayalam as Vivahitha in 1970.

Another ‘Gumraah’ was made in 1993. With Sanjay Dutt, Sridevi,Rahul Roy it revolved around drug trafficking. It was loosely based on the Australian mini series Bangkok Hilton. A commercial hit of 1993.

Gumrah – End of Innocence is an Indian crime TV series that started airing from March 2012 on Channel V India. It explores & suggests the right measures to avert crimes, narrating real-life stories revolving around harassment, kidnapping, murders, etc. committed by teenagers.

It focussed on youth lead astray . It was well received by the audience & also received many laurels.
