It is an American comedy drama TV series. Made in 2020. It has four seasons. Starring Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. Created by Mindy Kaling & Lang Fisher. It takes place in the San Fernando Valley, the show has been reported to be loosely based on Kaling’s childhood experiences in the Boston area.
It is about an Indian American high school student dealing with the sudden death of her father. The series generally received reviews.
Nevr Have I Ever is mostly narrated by Famous tennis player John McEnroe for Devi, with her showing flashes of his legendary temper. Three episodes are narrated by Andy Samberg for Ben & two by Gigi Hadid for Paxton.
The elite, alien environment around an uprooted Tamil family from India is a must watch. Trying to blend in a school where her orthodox family has put in restrictions, is a struggle. The budding teen has to learn so much.
Her father’s demise makes her more lonely. Trying to have a boyfriend & escaping from being called a nerd. As Kaling says ‘in the spirit of my childhood’ adding ‘I was a shy nerd, but did not have the confidence Devi has’.
