A Jackfruit Mystery also known as Kathal is a 2023 Indian Hindi language satirical comedy drama. Written by Ashok Mishra & directed by Yashowardhan Mishra for Netflix. Released on 19 May 2023 via Netflix.
The film features Sanya Malhotra, Anant V Joshi, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav with others. Two jackfruits get stolen from the garden of an MP’s house. Police inspector Mahima is assigned the case.
The police force is under pressure to find them before they ripen. The gardener has recently been fired. His daughter is missing but the police are ignoring her case. Then Mahima uses a trick of declaring that the gardener’s daughter has stolen the fruits. Now, everyone is eager to know her whereabouts.
The final scene of fighting on the rooftop is just too much. Not hilarious atall. So are a few scenes which could have been skipped. But the story is small & sharp. So is Sanya, a delight to watch.
