Doctor Cha

After 6 episodes the viewership has gone to 13.2 % & 13.317% from 4.9 & 5.4% of the first episode. It shows the show is going on successfully. But it also shows the women all over are sympathising with a housewife who sacrificed her career for her family.

The details may vary but the before marriage & after marriage scenario has not changed at all. It is the same all over the world!

I loved reading Enid Blyton. Later it was Mills & Boon, stories written by ladies. Barbara Cartland & others. They would paint a word picture, just perfect.

Then Agatha Christie came along. Mysteries got better than a Nancy Drew. Daphne du Maurier had a special style of writing. ‘Rebecca’ is one of her best. ‘House on the Strand’ they have all a unique quality.

Virginia Woolf studied in King’s college London & came across the women’s rights movement . She was encouraged by her father & she wrote professionally after his death.

Her large body of work is extraordinary. Drowning herself at the age of 59, we lost a great author. A woman.

Jane Austen had her plots exploring the dependence of women on marriage. In pursuit of favourable social standing & economic security. Is it different today? Nothing has changed.

Danielle Steel came next. Her novels often involve rich families facing a crisis. I forget the name of her book. But it had a TV anchor being abused by her husband. For the sake of her family she is tolerating everything. It came as a shock to me. Rich, affluent family I had assumed to have no care in the world! I was wrong.

Danielle Steel herself has been married five times. She has lost a child & suffered. Her books reflect many of her struggles.

A woman is still known for the family in which she marries. The financial independence has lead to many breakups. Not educating the women but the husbands learning to respect their wives is the real development or improvement. Only then can a women live her dreams.

Dr Cha’s husband also has a daughter with his first love. If the case was reversed would he accept the fact? Ill Treating his wife, destroying her career is easy. Maintaining to be friends or more than friends with another woman, how does it justify??

Bringing the same bracelet for his wife was a scene from any Hindi movie of the 90s. Jeetendra would have a love interest. Then believing her to be dead ,he would marry another. He would bring two same pattern sarees for them.

They would meet in the market & praise their husbands. That being one man!!

Only here, Doctor Cha has stepped out & knows something is going on. She has caught on. Come on, she is an intelligent woman!

Now, the plot thickens.
