It is a 2022 Indian Hindi language adventure drama film. Unchai (trans.Altitude) has the height of it’s own. Directed by Sooraj Barjatya. Written by Abhishek Dixit on the basis of an original story by Sunil Gandhi.

It is the 60th film produced by Rajshri productions. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Danny Denzongpa, Parineeti Chopra, Neena Gupta & Sarika.

Made on a budget of est. 20 crores it garnered est. 50 crores. It got positive reviews for it’s direction, cast performances, screen play,cinematography but criticism for it’ s excessive length.

It has beautiful visuals. We are ona journey with them. Small touches of convincing his friends or Boman’ s wife Neena to visit their daughter in Kanpur are excellent. Melodrama towards the end was not expected. But then getting a good film where the oldies achieve their goal & nobody dies there. Isn’t that a major achievement??

Not only a physical journey but the maturing along the way. I would call it ‘coming of age’ film. Isn’t accepting our age & moving along the right way? Why would only teens have ‘coming of age’??

A simple trek turns out to be a personal, emotional & spiritual journey as they battle their physical limitations & discover the true meaning of freedom.

Considering the viewership, that it was well received by the audiences, is a major feat. The viewers have appreciated a good film. Fantastic.

Lucky, Parineeti getting to work with such stalwarts. I envied her , seriously. In the mountains she is a natural. Plodding them along & getting on the better side of her parents along the way.

Danny is a bonus. So fresh, so natural, as always.
