It is a 2022 Philippine romantic comedy film. It stars Coco Martin & Jodi Sta Maria. It was released on Dec. 25, 2022.
Gabo is a filipino who works multiple jobs. Trisha is a successful Fil-Am career woman in the US. Her fiance cheats on her & she hurries to her grandmother in the Philippines. She meets her childhood friend, Daisy, who takes her to get over the pain where she meets Gabo. He is an entertainer, a stripper , at the club.
The director, Coco Martin has based the film on his experiences when he worked as an Overseas Filipino Worker in Canada. He preferred to work with minimal rehearsals & script guidance for the filming. He believes over reliance on the script ‘takes away the magic’.
If we watch carefully some of the incidents do feel raw & real. Calling for ICE to take away the illegal immigrant or when they face the harsh reality of shortage of money. That scene is very well directed & enacted.
It was released in cinemas in the Philippines on Dec 25, 2022 as one of the eight official entries of the 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival.
