Around the 10th episode, True Beauty remains an endearing experience. Moon Ga young with Cha Eun woo, Hwang in youp make it likeable. The high schooler bullied for her looks transforms herself into a gorgeous goddess with the help of heavy make up. Her journey to become a cosmetologist is being traced.
The viewership was never much above 5% but it has all the elements of a typical K-drama to compel you to watch. The side characters & their stories makes it watchable. The ups & downs in the journey of the leads is usual.
Working as a part timer in a cafe, having a strong liking for horror comics, visiting ‘Prince comics’ to read or exchange books, having a nagging mother, who has her own salon. Though poor she gets her hands on the cosmetics easily.
The boy is super rich with a father as a celebrity. Huge house where he stays alone. Always first in his class. He is liked by another girl & the leading lady is also admired by another boy.
This makes it more complex. If the triangle is a permanent in K dramas, this situation is more complicated. The high schoolers having a boyfriend, well it may not be unusual but can interfere with the studies for sure.
Her elder sister falling for a teacher is more hilarious. When she takes the lead it is direct & applause worthy. Her storyline is something to lookout for.
