A Japanese film by Rikiya Imaizumi released in 2023. ‘Call Me spirited Away’ is an adaptation of the homonymous manga by Hiroyuki Yasuda.
Chihiro quit her job as a prostitute & now works in a bento shop as a part-timer.In a small seaside town she lives happily without trying to hide the fact that she worked as a prostitute & treats everyone indiscriminately.
Opening scene where she is talking with the cat & walking on the street makes us aware of her being different. As she meets other people she helps them & expects nothing in return.
Gradually her pace becomes ours yet she never ceases to surprise. Her pure soul shines through. She doesn’t shy from hard work & never gets attached to anybody.
She chooses her path & meets new people. She believes ‘We are from different planets ‘ hence not everybody understands the other person. She awaits the day when she will meet someone from the same planet as hers.
