Born in Faisalabad of Punjab in Pakistan in 1914,Teji Bachchan married Hindi poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. She was married for 62 years till his death in 2003. She played Lady Macbeth in Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s Hindi adaptation & a cameo role in 1976 romance drama ‘Kabhi Kabhi’ starring Amitabh Bachchan as one of the leads.
Later Tabu also played Lady Macbeth in ‘Maqbool’ alongside Irrfan. Another strong lady in the industry.
With a poet & an actor to care for , live with must have been tough. But she made it possible. Welcoming another star, Jaya Bachchan her daughter-in-law to the household was a feat.Away from the glare & glamour she managed her family keeping them all together. Braving so many storms on the way.
