It is a 2017 Canadian Christmas comedy drama film. Directed by Ernie Barbarash. It stars Eliza Taylor, Jake Lacy, Andie MacDowell with others. It features Taylor as a spoiled New York city heiress sent to a small New England town with limited resources to test if she is ready to take over her father’s company.
It was him who goes to White Deer to see the first Bakery where it all started. The Carlton family. He is planning for automation. The kringles made in Christmas make him re think.
The basic plot being similar. Travelling from San Francisco to White Deer or from New York to New England it is the same adventure. Of course the die hard fans like us wish that the two are meant to be together. But in reality, if wishes were horses….
It is a delight to watch these flicks made for Christmas. They are short, sweet & sincere. They have no heavy stuff nor emotional overload. No mystery or violence, suspense. It is as if watching a ‘Mills & Boon’ on reel.
Beautiful people, good costumes, scenic locales & a soft story to boot. What we need more? It may be a Hallmark or a Landmark. We are interested in the leads & how they overcome the odds!
Canadian or American they never disappoint.
