In the Korean series ‘My Only One’ I came across an actress who isn’t the lead! The series moves with Uee & her father. But Park Ha na as Sung Soo hyun is the daughter of Q Pharmaceuticals. She has a small role. But significant.
In the show ‘Young Lady & Gentleman’ she has a layered role. From being an ambitious person she gets delusioned as her schemes fail. When she loses the baby she flies abroad. Not surprising that she got an award for her effort.
In the middle when she is away, we keep missing her. Her schemes to get the chairman are not very innovative yet amusing. One cannot make someone to forget what they like! She tries to use his loss of memory to get engaged. But she knows this cannot last forever.
I had a not so good feeling with her story. It did not sit well with me. Her “Mr Teddy bear” has a raw deal. He is with her in her tough situations but doesn’t get anything. The baby is lost. She goes away. May not return.
When he introduces her to his mother, there was a glimmer of hope. It vanishes soon. I can understand she felt guilty. But what was his fault? He loved some loser??
“Young Lady & Gentleman” is totally Park Dan dan’s story. From her being a baby till how she meets her husband. Ms Jo Sa ra’s story deserved a better closure.
It ends on a feel good note with Sa ra being very unhappy. But that’s life, I presume.
