The 2019 film made with Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh & so many others is a seventh film adaptation of the 1968 novel of Louisa May Alcott. The Korean adaptation is equally good.
It opened to a good start & after the first week it is moving up. Kim Go eun & Nam Ji hyun are good actresses. Taking place in a modern day setting, it is loosely based on the novel.
KIm Go eun’s secret friend, Jin Hwa young appeared in special appearance. But her death is going to be the turning point in her life. The purchase of the luxury goods & the missing 70 billion won will propel the story.
As director Shin , Oh Jung se is excellent. The negative shade to his character is worth watching. But he is killed in a car accident. The brakes fail & the car drives over the railing of the parking lot. He had gifted her with red heels just like the two ladies before her. Was she lucky? Or something more is afloat ??
Nam Ji hyun is now suspended & carrying the investigation on her own. Her first informant also dies in a car accident. His brakes fail on the road. He is about to meet her. There is an orchid kept at the site of all deaths.
The third cameo by Song Joong ki… what is he doing there? He is an employee at the luxury shoe store! He confirms the identity of Director Shin. It was pleasant to see him. Is he playing a role in the next ? Has he signed one with KIm Go eun or Nam Ji hyun?? But we will have to wait!
The plot thickens as we move ahead.
