Grandmaster

It is a 2012 Indian Malayalam action thriller. Written & directed by B. Unnikrishnan. Film stars Mohanlal as Chandrashekhar, a senior IPS officer who begins investigating as eries of murders after receiving an anonymous note.

Priyamani, Narain, Anoop Menon & others in supporting role. The target being his wife & daughter makes it a cliff hanger.

I had serious problem with his wife looking too young. She looks like his daughter sometimes. The scene where she leaves the house with the daughter in her arms! They should have cast a senior artist with him. She is actually 38 but looks younger. He is 62 but extremely fit. Like Rajni, he is charm, they have the same charisma to conquer the screen!

The movie is based on ‘The ABC Murders’ by Agatha Christie. which was already adapted for a TV series named ‘Black & white’.

Getting a 3.5 out of 5 the critics have been generous. I would rate it higher as a fan. Mohanlal, Singer Vijay Yesudas & the Debutant producer Siddharth Roy kapoor & Ronnie Screwvala were awarded for their good work.

Extremely watchable.
