It is a 2022 French teen film. It is based on the novel titled the same name by Pierre Choderios de Laclos. It is a story about love & betrayal. The review says if you liked the 90s ‘Cruel Intentions’ then you will surely enjoy it.
Directed by Rachel Suissa it is modernised & French version of ‘Cruel Intentions’ but with it’s own twist. 17 year old Celene arrives to attend a prestigious high school in Biarritz, leaving behind her fiance in Paris. She gets introduced to the school’s elite, Instagram star Vanessa & celebrity surfer Tristan.
Soon she finds herself falling in love with Trishan, unaware that she’s the object of a cruel bet between him & Vanessa. Paola Locatelli as Celene, Ella Pellegrini as Vanessa & Simon Rerolle as Trishan.
Some scenes are dragged but the story continues. Shorter, sharper could have made more impact. Watchable.
