At Eighteen

Coming to the final 16th episode the journey of the leads will end here. But the process has been slow & steady. They have matured with the events in their life. The 15th dealt with Ma Hwi yeong on his knees & saying ‘sorry ‘ to Jun u. It wasn’t a victory. Only realisation.

Again it happened too late yet too soon. People don’t change just because something went wrong. His parents were trying to give him success with their money. Actually buying off the teachers to fabricate his result! Bad ones need to be punished. But it was too blatant.

His father hitting him or his mother was revolting. I know it is common but depicting it makes it more regular. Soft targets are often chosen by the bullies. But parents resorting to violence is a no no.

Soo Bin & Jun u have long known they like each other. Also that their mothers are all alone. Their fathers are never going to be there for them. Yet the approach is different. Soo bin’s mother posts a lady bodyguard to shield her from her boyfriend & Jun u’s mother is happy that he has found his first love. She is happy that her son has found his own happiness.

Their healing is something to look out for but trying to correct the situation by making Hwi yoeng face the music, he deserved it , but is too much. I expect the Korean shows to be simple, soft & realistic. Every problem doesn’t have a quick fix.

The show got better as it advanced. So again with the end, comes the search for a new one to indulge in!
