Yesterday with the much awaited rains came the music concert with Taufiq Qureshi,Ramdas Palsule & Milind Tulankar. Percussionist Taufiq Qureshi, Tabla player Ramdas Palsule & Jaltarang by Milind Tulankar was the perfect finale for the day.
Kalidas kalamandir had a huge audience after so many years. The two Covid years have set us back & coming out is an effort. Instrumental music heard by so many in itself was a feat! It was brought to us by Musofreak, a local band.
The evening rains brought a cooling effect & the music … I have no words to describe. The Jaltarang by Milind Tulankar heard with eyes closed really seeped into the hearts directly! And the drums.. what can I say!
Opening bands of ‘Jivalaga…’ we have fond memories of the voice & the verse & he captured the moment! More than 86 years in his family, we wondered how could the china glassware withstand his strokes. They were forceful !!! His grandfather & he have been sharing it for concerts & radio shows!!
Taufiq Qureshi with Ramdas Palsule make a beautiful white haired duo. After felicitations they lifted the chairs so simply, it brought tears to our eyes. So down to earth. Dressed simply, they exhibited an aura seldom seen.
All three playing their instruments made beautiful music. After performing in 24 places in the US they are back. In their first programme in Ahmednagar, they have moved to other parts of the country.
With the claps I was assured of good people with good ears. The resounding claps did not end even when the curtains came down.
Starting the event a tad late, maybe we were deprived of some more of it. They are professionals, take time very seriously. Being late they did not take even a second away. Ending on a high note they took a bow & thanked the audience.
What a sight. A treasure to cherish!
