Coming to the end of the series, only a couple more, I wish they would treat us to such excellent dramas. Not an award nor a role well defined, the real people mean a lot! The characters are fleshed out so well.
Exploring the dynamics between the grand mother & her grandchild, it was so natural. The granny cooked what was nutritious & the child craved for what her mother gives her. Granny instinctively knows something is off. She also visits the hospital & asks her daughter-in-law to let him go! Her son is in coma & the expense is mounting.
The other mother, her friend & Dong seok’s mother, only wishes her son to accompany her to Mokpo. She is leaving the house as if she will never come back again. Cleaning the toilet seat when her son arrives to pick her up, is ultimate. Making him carry the last bundles or asking him to close her door was so typical.
All elderly have a plan of their own. They have time for what they want to do. Here, he comes to pick her up at 4.30 am as promised but they reach the ferry when it is leaving. It 6 am by then. She never told him she is having her friend coming with them! Man su’s mother again has so many boxes to take. Also they never tell him how many at once. ‘One more!’ and he goes for it again. Typical!
Noh Hee kyung has all the finer details captured. Excellent! After ‘Live’ in 2018,she wrote ‘Our Blues’ in October 2021. Three couples going through their blues.
What next? is our question for her. Looking forward to it.
