Also titled ‘Moment of Eighteen’ is a coming of age Korean drama. A 2019 drama with Ong Seong wu, Kim Hyang gi, Shin Seong ho, Kang Ki young, Kim Kahee.
It is Ong’s first official role. He looks like a teenager. His character has many layers & he does it with finesse. The wounded look is perpetual. He has been wronged for no reason, the hurt there in his eyes.
Shin Seung ho is his rich rival. He is competing for his girlfriend. Being the class president doesn’t suffice. His tilt of chin & glare make him arrogant & a snob. His riches buy him his minions. Sometimes he crosses the line & shows off in front of the class. The classroom teacher, Kang Ki young, as always has given his best. If I liked him in “What’s wrong with Secretary Kim?” he is better in ‘On your wedding day’, ‘Weightlifting fairy…”Bring it on Ghost”, Familiar Wife… it’s difficult to choose.
No wonder then he has the excellence award at the 12th Korea drama awards for this show, ‘At eighteen’ with best supporting actor award for ‘What’s wrong with…’ at 14th Soompi awards!!!
I guess our eyes get trained & we can easily predict the next winners! No secret there.
