From the first look I never liked the Hindi film ‘Fan’ made in 2016. A Shahrukh fan since ages this film had that dark note somewhere. Obsession. Too much of anything is bad. It is based on his real fan. The lookalike Gaurav Chandna maybe a fictitious character. To appease his idol the fan fights only to bringin the wrath of the actor. Heartbroken he plans revenge.
Revenge or gore is not my cup of tea. So be it ‘Zero’ or ‘Fan’ the former fans like me had no interest in SRK’s new ventures. Give me a ‘Kuch kuch hota Hai’ or a ‘Dil to Pagal hai’ anyday. Better yet the classic ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le jayenge’.
Recently read an article about a Japanese man marrying a doll, his idol. The fan going overboard with his admiration. He eats, sleeps, talks to her just like a newly wed. How right is it??
Admiration! Fine. Worship! Okay. but being with an inanimate object???Recently in a short story I saw a man fascinated by a mannequin. But soon he transfers his affection to his childhood friend & marries her. The resemblance between the mannequin & the girl was uncanny.
In the basics where we learn about a chalk getting smaller or the mountain changing to boulders, stones, sand,etc the changes are degradative. We go for constructive changes only found in living beings. Biotic & non-biotic factors that form our world. Living beings exhibiting irritability, growth, metabolism, locomotion, etc.
Reproduction & procreation are the basic instincts. The living world around thrives on the urge. But when misplaced it can lead to disaster. Humans have certain rules by which they lead their lives. Chaos will set in if we defy them. The well laid institutions will be defunct.
With advances in science & technology aren’t we moving forward ? Why do we feel like we are going back to the stone ages?? Why do our morals are on test & keep on changing??
