It is a Hindi language film released on 6 May 2022. The latest by Anil Kapoor & his son Harshvardhan. The poster has Harsh in the forefront with Anil behind him but in the film it happens exactly the opposite. Anil outshines him in all the faculties.

Anil Kapoor in ‘Shakti’ was a newbie with stalwarts like Dilip kumar & Amitabh Bachchan as his grandfather & father, really! But he did a great job with the few scenes he had for himself. Not getting bogged down by their strature was just great!!

Later ‘Mashal’ or even “Ram Lakhan” showed he can rise above the script. His ‘1942: A lovestory’ was sheer poetry with Manisha Koirala. I have been his fan for ages but I have seen Harsh on screen too.

Did the Western noir genre put me off?? Or as Saumya Srivastava stated in ‘The Hindustan Times’, the film which begins with a Western set in Rajasthan but soon descends into torture porn genre.

Give me a bandit film like ‘Sholay’ any day! Gabbar Singh is more humane…. Every frame is a classic today!

Whatever the stars it may have, three or two & a half , ‘Thar’ does not entertain.
