Simon Basset leaving after the first season is shocking. His role brought him recognition & fame. His character assayed by someone else is unthinkable. Maybe if the focus is on Anthony, Simon may take a backseat.
Anthony’s hairstyle has changed. He looks more mature & the responsible head of the family. His talk with Colin earlier also emphasises the fact that he is slowly getting over his lost love & focussing on his duties.
His priority had always been his family but after Daphne’s marriage he seems to wear the cape of the family man. Looks ready to enter matrimony for the family. His love for the singer was real but her status in the society made it difficult to introduce her to his mother.
We know who is the mystery writer, Lady Whistledown, is. Her character has been written so well. It was nominated for the ‘Must see moment’. With all things going on we miss her identity. If it flashed in the mind it gets lost. Finally when we see her face it is like ‘Oh !’
The story being in place it is no surprise that the season 2 is number one show streaming on the platform. The momentum is catching up.
