One Spring Night

Revisiting it again & I absolutely love it. The finesse & execution is too good. Do I like Ahn Pan seok’s direction or the lead pair more? Tough. I think both! If ‘Something in the Rain’ has Son Ye jin with Jung Hae in, here Han Ji min is absolutely stunning!!

Han Ji min is good in all her roles but this one is just different. It brings out the best in her. When she interacts with the child artist no one will believe she is not a mother. She is a natural. It’s her eyes that do the talking for her.

Jung Hae in being wounded the first time is baffled & struggling with his own emotions. His pain is evident in his face & eyes. She asks him to not cross the road, they are standing on either side of the road talking on their cells. He just looks at her. It is one of the classic shots ever.

Also when he can’t reach out of fear of scaring her, it is frustrating. His helplessness gets to us. I know actually what is going to happen next & yet the scenes fascinate me. I can watch it again & again without her father’s part or her sister’s. Lee Moo saeng is the dentist who ill treats his wife. He gets on the nerves.

Feeling sorry for her boyfriend is just a fleeting thought. We are too focussed on the leads! A beauty, indeed.
