A 2020 Spanish drama with Angela Cremonte, Javier Rey, Manuela Velasco. It is a thriller , a remake of the British series ‘Liar’. She is a literature teacher who seeks justice against a surgeon. She claims he date raped her. He vehemently denies her accounts of the evening.
It is a limited series of only 6 episodes. The first episode ‘Do you believe me?’ is gripping. We keep on hoping some clues will be seen. But we are left wondering.
It has similar lines to the Hindi film ‘Pink’ or also the later one ‘Thappad’. When friendly it is assumed that the woman is either loose or interested. Because she smiles a lot?? When a woman says ‘No’ it is NO! There is no ambiguity. There is no hidden ‘Yes’ when she is saying NO.
Going on a date or enjoying his company is fine. But she never wanted anything more to happen. To which Xavier says she took the initiative. Now when two people are involved & their stories do not match, there remains a doubt in the mind forever.
Not only the investigation but the back stories of people around her seem to be interesting.
